SURGEON TRAINING
Training Modalities Overview >>>
Because each technique is different, the Davol Surgeon Training Program utilizes
modalities that suit each technique’s particular needs and preferences.
Modalities:
- Hands-in training – visiting surgeons scrub in to view live procedures.
- Observational training – observe a didactic and live surgical presentation.
- Animal Labs – participate in open and laparoscopic bioskills Animal Lab training.
- Preceptorships – a surgeon trainer travels to the participating surgeon’s facility (this program supports Davol hernia products and techniques).
- Educational Speaker Programs – attend Grand Rounds, small dinner programs, journal clubs, resident training programs, and primary-care speaker programs.
In accordance with the AdvaMed Code of Ethics, these programs are limited to healthcare professionals only who have a bona-fide interest in the presentation topic.
